SJ88, Senator Bryce Reeve's constitutional amendment to secure the right to a secret ballot, died on the VA Senate floor today. Every Democrat member of the Senate voted NOT to ensure OUR right to a private and secret ballot.
Labor bosses, and their high paid lobbyists in Washington, are pushing federal legislation that would deny federal, state, and local workers from their right to a secret ballot in union elections. Big labor's push to pass the "Employee Free Choice Act," also known as Card Check, would deny Virginia workers their right to privacy when voting in union elections.
The right to a secret ballot should not be a partisan issue, and SHAMEFULLY, the Senate Democrats made it so! This amendment is essential if we are going to preserve voter integrity and privacy. No person should be forced to reveal how they voted in any election at any level and what a disappointment that Senate Democrats decided to take this in a party line direction.
