[Peninsula-Patriots] Fw: IBDeditorials Newsletter: June 07, 2012 issue

Received from Dr. Fred Singer today. It looks like Alabama has a lot more going for it than just a great football team. Go Alabama. Now if we could just get Virginia to follow there fine example of state government.

Alabama recently took on Agenda 21 through a State Law that strips Agenda 21 or it's ability to seize property. It's in the IBD editorials below. You'll find things in IBD that you won't see anywhere else in a mainstream newspaper.

Republican Party of Virginia
Greetings State Convention Delegates,

Congratulations on your election as a delegate to the RPV 2012 State Convention!

As a delegate, you are in the unique position to elect 13 at-large delegates and 13 at-large alternate delegates to the national convention. You'll nominate 2 electors at-large, a national committeeman and national committeewoman. Our current state party chair, Pat Mullins, is running unopposed for reelection.

I am delighted to announce my candidacy for RNC National Committeewoman.

Through my involvement in the Republican Party, I have come to realize that there is a distinction between those who call themselves Republicans and those who live by conservative principles.

I do not wish to offend anyone with the points that I must make, as I know that many, if not most of our Republican leadership operate under the most admirable intentions. My demur lies not with this framework itself, but with the occasional lack of consideration for political principles within it.

I believe that the moral prerogative that charters the party cannot be cast aside merely at the bidding of the mechanism itself.

The message of peace, liberty, and prosperity has loosened its guard. It saddens and concerns me that we often see that the most important standard that our candidates are held to, is one of mere victory. If this is our goal, then we really have no goal at all.

We have failed in our sacred duty of self-government, which is to offer compassionately to one another the contract of liberty, and to stand relentless in defense of the moral action which that ideal necessitates.

Our loss of the presidential election in 2008 steered our country into the abyss. We are facing economic devastation like nothing we've experienced in our lifetimes. Even worse than "The Great Depression".

We simply cannot afford to lose again. The freedoms that we hold dear cannot survive another four years of failed policies that plagued us even before the 2008 election.

I have a proven record of turning out the grassroots. In 2010, I built a coalition of tea party and other conservative groups totaling more than 30,000 grassroots activists across the state of Virginia in support of the Virginia Health Care Freedom Act. On lobby day, I brought together approximately 2400 grassroots activists for our 10th Amendment Revolution Rally on capitol grounds in support of the bill that served as the basis for our Attorney General's court challenge to Obamacare. I am told this was the largest lobby day rally in the history of the General Assembly.

I have dedicated the past 3 years to traveling around the state warning tea party and other conservative groups, Republican Committees, Associations & Clubs, and state and local lawmakers of the dangers of United Nations Agenda 21, the comprehensive plan of extreme environmentalism, social engineering, and global political control.

The bill to make "Urban Development Areas" optional rather than mandatory was passed with overwhelming support of both houses of the GA and was signed into law by the Governor in April of 2012. The UDA mandate of 2007 served as part of the framework for the implementation of Agenda 21 in Virginia. In addition, the grassroots mobilized to prevent more than 20 sustainability bills this year.

In short, grassroots mobilization is a valuable strength that I'll bring with me to the party. No matter how much money you throw at a campaign, it takes strong grassroots mobilization to win elections.

I also bring with me great hope for unity within the party. I am here to represent the Tea Party and Ron Paul factions of the Republican Party and am seeking a seat at the table.

One thing I know with absolute certainty, without each other, we cannot win in 2012 or in future elections. If we are to have any hope of restoring fiscal sanity and the freedoms we hold dear, we must come together.

Together we can build a party platform that we can all agree on.

Together we will hold our elected officials accountable to those standards we all embrace.

Together we can garner the support of all factions of the GOP for the Republican nominee for President of the United States in 2012 and beyond.

I ask that you cast your vote for unity by electing me to represent you as your RNC National Committeewoman at the Virginia State Convention on Saturday, June 16, 2012.

Together, we will win in 2012 and beyond.

Yours in liberty,
Donna

UN SEEKS FULL CONTROL OF AMERICA

TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION - SEND FAXES TO ALL 100 SENATORS - NOW!

URGENT: The Obama Administration is attempting to force the United Nation's deadly Agenda 21 policies down American throats. If ratified this treaty will give the United Nations control of everything from our fishing rights, the food we eat and even where we will be allowed to live.

IF AMERICA MEANS TO SURVIVE, THE SENATE MUST STOP AGENDA 21!

I have to be honest with you.
This is the most disturbing email I have ever written. I am frightened for our country. I am frightened for its freedom-loving citizens. But most of all, I am frightened for the future of America. Obama supports beating up the U.S. Constitution and we must not let it be replaced by United Nations Agenda 21.

The UN is ruthlessly advancing a new plan that will make America a HOSTAGE to the United Nations. While Obama and the liberal media ignore gas prices streaking to $5/gal. and England is already paying $10/gal.

UN Agenda 21 could...
  • Wipe private property off the face of the earth.
  • Force you and your family to live in a multi-family energy efficient mega-complex.
  • Confiscate private farms and farmland.
  • Snatch away private landholdings.
  • Ban individual ownership of cars.

Sound too outlandish to be true? The scariest part is... IT IS TRUE! So what exactly is Agenda 21? I'll tell you in a minute. But first, I'll give you some background information that is critical to understanding how this anti-freedom scheme came about.

In 1992, the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) was held in Rio de Janeiro to discuss global initiatives. 172 governments attended and 108 sent their heads of state. And about 2,400 representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) showed up for the "GLOBAL FORUM."

This group of POWERFUL world leaders and environmentalists spent their time discussing typical green movement hogwash like alternative energy, the phony science of climate change and "deadly" car emissions. Back in 1992, most people dismissed this conference as a green rant fest.

However, that was a huge mistake...

...Because the politicians came up with a plan for a centrally ruled global society. They called that plan Agenda 21. The plan's contract would make governments around the world a SLAVE to the every wish and whim of the United Nations.

We cannot make the same mistake with Agenda 21!

UN Agenda 21 would also dictate...
  • Where we live
  • What we eat
  • How and what we learn
  • Where and when we can move (if at all)
Here's how the UN describes it:
"Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world has ever experienced a major shift in the priorities of both governments and individuals and an unprecedented redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences of every human action be integrated into individual and collective decision-making at every level."

It's already happening right now.

Obama, who has vowed to "fundamentally transform America," is pushing to implement this freedom-grabbing plan UNDER THE RADAR.

On June 9, 2011 he signed EXECUTIVE ORDER 13575 and established the White House Rural Council (WHRC). This new administrative body is responsible for federally coordinating and implementing sustainable and green development locally.

Here is an excerpt from EO 13575:
Section 1. Policy- Sixteen percent of the American population lives in rural counties. Strong, sustainable rural communities are essential to winning the future and ensuring American competitiveness in the years ahead.
"Sustainable" became a buzzword at the UN's 1992 Earth Summit in Brazil (where Agenda 21 was created).

Sustainable = Agenda 21

Mike Opelka of The Blaze reports,
"Warning bells should have been sounding all across rural America when the phrase 'sustainable rural communities' came up. As we know from researching the UN plan for Sustainable Development known as Agenda 21, these are code words for the true fundamental transformation America."
UN Agenda 21 is a transnational attempt to erode property rights, destroy freedom and make America submissive to foreign bureaucrats.

That's why we need to act QUICKLY.

We don't have much time to waste before this TOTALITARIAN TREATY BECOMES LAW OF THE LAND!

THIS IS NOT A FIGHT WE CAN AFFORD TO LOSE

1. Select Below - Tell The Senate To REJECT Attempts To Submit America To The UN.
Tell The Senate To REJECT All Attempts To Implement UN Agenda 21!

4. CALL President Obama, 202-456-1111 and 202-456-1414 expressing your disdain and ABSOLUTE REJECTION of the UN plan. Tell Obama that you DO NOT SUPPORT destroying personal property rights, confiscating private land and banning private ownership of cars.

5. Print this copy and pass it around where normal working class Americans gather who care about the future of our country. Polling data reveals that Americans treasure their Constitutional rights and personal freedoms. They DO NOT want to be controlled by DESPOTIC rule and CONCEDE to foreign leaders.

From Heritage Action -

New Push for Old, Dangerous Treaty

The Obama Administration is pushing for the ratification of another dangerous treaty. Known as the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), this United Nations treaty threatens American sovereignty by creating a new international organization to administer 70 percent of the earth's surface.

We don't need another unaccountable international agency, which is why the Senate has refused to ratify LOST for three decades. But now, led by President Obama, liberals and radical environmentalists are beginning a new push for ratification.

Under Article 82, the Jamaica-based International Seabed Authority will seize royalties from offshore oil drilling and distribute them to developing nations - even some that may sponsor terrorism. Beyond that, the treaty would require the U.S. to engage in mandatory dispute resolution, which could lead to a U.N.-imposed cap-and-trade style regime.

The House of Representatives has already sent a clear message: the Senate should reject LOST, and if they do not, conservatives in the House will make sure this dangerous treaty cannot be implemented. Undeterred, Senator John Kerry (D-MA) is planning to ratify this fatally flawed treaty during Lame Duck.

Get the facts now, so that you can stop the liberal push to ratify this dangerous treaty. Thanks for your support in keeping America free.

Sincerely,
Michael A. Needham

Sign Petition re GOP Convention vs. Primary Vote

From a Tea Party activist in Virginia -

For the last two election cycles, The Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) has voted to select our candidates through a Primary system, not a Convention. In fact, before the 2011 election, RPV voted to hold primaries for the 2013 selection process. Never before in the history of our Commonwealth has that decision been made that early. Many believe that effort was strategically done to shut out the newly engaged grassroots activists, who were still focused on the 2011 elections and not forward thinking enough to be watching the strategies for 2013 that were being played out.

On June 15th, The Central Committee of Virginia will reconsider the vote they took in October about whether our 2013 nomination process should be a Convention or a Primary. I am asking you to sign a petition which will go to The Central Committee of The Republican Party of Virginia, asking them to vote for Conventions.

Here is the link for the statewide Petition - for the entire state of Virginia. Please sign today. This will go directly to Pat Mullins, Chairman of The Republican Party of Virginia-

If you live in the 7th Congressional District, and are Represented by Eric Cantor I ask you to also sign this petition. -

Thank you for your time and serious consideration in this very important matter.

[Peninsula-Patriots] Action Needed Now to Contact Legislators

I received this from a leader in the Middlesex Tea Party. The Law of the Sea Treaty is something we cannot ignore. We must let our legislators know that we are watching to see how they vote on this treaty. It along with UN Agenda 21 is leading us on a path to world government which will destroy the sovereignty of America. I am sending a sample of a letter I wrote. Please feel free to use it if you wish. Whatever you do, please help preserve the country we love. Read the email from my friend in the Middlesex Tea Party below the letter I wrote.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Senator ______________

I encourage you to vote NO when the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) comes to the floor of the Senate for ratification . Though this treaty has been around for decades and was signed by the United States in 1993 it has thankfully never been ratified by the United States. Previous presidents and legislators have seen it as a threat to our sovereignty for the following reasons.

a. Activist behind it are also instrumental in promoting the International Court (ICC) which among other things could prosecute American troops and civilians on dubious war crimes.

b. Both the ICC and LOST are both important steps on the road to world government. Giving more power, authority and functions to the United Nations would gradually erode national sovereignty until it no longer exist.

c. The treaty would provide self sustaining revenue by requiring that any mining of the seabeds beyond national waters would require payment of royalties to LOS. That would allow the UN to be independent of voluntary contributions by member nations. This would permit it to govern as it determines ie. World Government.

d. LOST would create an international governing institution with control over 70% of the world's surface and would serve to bring nation states like ours to submission and redistribute the world's wealth and technology from the developed world to the developing world much like Cap & Trade would.
e. LOST would help radical environmentalist achieve what they haven't been able to achieve through legislation. It requires countries to adopt regulations and laws to control pollution of the marine environment. Since pollutants are not defined it could be anything they determine it to be.

In conclusion, LOST is a terrible deal for the United States. It would threaten our sovereignty, place significant portion of the world's resources under the control of the United Nations and complicate our efforts to apprehend terrorists on the high seas by subjecting our actions to review by an international court unlikely to render decisions favorable to the U.S.. If ratified by the Senate it will amount to the rape of America.

Sincerely,

DeWitt Edwards

Subject: Action Needed Now to Contact Legislators

The Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) will soon come before the United States Senate for a vote.  I've been sending you information as I receive it about this treaty.  If you need a refresher, read about it at Center for Security Policy (use your search engine).  If this treaty is passed, it will cost United States taxpayers billions of dollars to be paid in royalties to the treaty-specified Jamaican Court for off-shore drilling, mining, and technical rights.  Of course, no one knows where this money will ultimately end up, but you can be sure it won't be for this country's benefit.

The United States Constitution, Article VI, is very clear that a signed treaty becomes the Supreme Law of the Land.  That means it must be enforced in United States' courts and all states must abide by it.  We are the only country in the world that has such a provision in our Constitution.  Once signed, it isn't difficult to see how LOST will bring foreign law into our courts and there will be nothing we can do about it.

It's my understanding that eight (8) more votes are needed in the Senate to defeat this treaty; there currently are 28 "No" votes. Virginia has two Democrat Senators who are indicating they will vote in favor of the treaty.

It's time to have our state elected officials bring pressure.  Please contact Keith Hodges (keithhodges98@gmail.com) and Ryan McDougle (district104@senate.virginia.gov or senator@ryanmcdougle.com) AND Governor McDonnell (adam.zubowsky@governor.virginia.gov). Ask them to contact Senators Warner and Webb to oppose this treaty.

Remember:  Sending a hand-written letter to your elected official is considered by them to represent 20 voters.

As a final thought, LOST is one of six (6) treaties President Obama is pushing through before the election in November.  We'll do our best to stay on top of them and get word to you asap as action is needed. As always, information you gather will help all of us--please send it to me and I'll forward it to everyone.

Thanks for your help to save our freedom and sovereignty!

Don't Regulate This

RedState Morning Briefing

1. Help Defeat International Regulatory Schemes for the Internet

Today the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology is examining a dangerous international attempt to regulate and tax the Internet.

Several hostile countries are pursuing the expansion of a 1988 International Telecommunication Regulation (ITR) Treaty under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an agency within the United Nations. Their preferred venue for this back-door power play is the December 2012 World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT) in Dubai.

This morning's hearing will be watched with great interest around the world as everyone looks to see what the United States says about surrendering exclusive inter-governmental policy controls over things like network governance, technical standards, domain names, content controls, access taxes, cybersecurity and more.

2. Obama continues negative campaign – tries to trash Governor Romney

Having seen Mitt Romney, build a lead among the critical Independent voters and veterans, close the gender gap and improve his favorable ratings while the recently restarted Obama reelection campaign stumbles badly out of the gate. And as hid campaign suffers from the Democrats' Bain mutiny and a campaign spokesman who bears false witness, Obama decides to continue his negative feedback loop by attempting to trash Romney's gubernatorial record.

That now seems to be the Obamacrats standard operating procedure. The first thing they do is go negative and try to demonize their opponents rather than stand on their record.

Please click here for the rest of the post.

3. 54% of WI AFSCME employees voted with their feet in 2011.

I am going to try to avoid too much hyperbole and sarcasm for this one; this is one time where the situation requires neither. When Scott Walker and other Republicans instituted labor union reforms in 2009, one of the basic planks of such reforms – the one that was quietly and viciously fought, tooth and nail, by the unions – was removal of mandatory dues collection for public sector union employees. In fact, from the union leaderships' point of view this was THE reform that needed to be killed; if the Republicans had compromised on it then there probably wouldn't have been a Wisconsin recall movement at all. But Walker and the Republicans didn't compromise… and what was the result?

DOOM.

Please click here for the rest of the post.

4. Study Reveals the Gulf of Mexico Permitting Mess

In a rational world, the Federal government would act as a motivated lease owner who was interested in promoting the safe and environmentally responsible development of his mineral resource, consistent with sound conservation practice. That's why there's a permit process in the first place.

Since Macondo, that's backwards. Operating practices must conform to the permitting process that has, um, evolved in a purely political environment: practical considerations, economics and common sense be damned. And while the politicians proclaim a concern for production levels, product prices and jobs, their actions and policies tell another story.

Please click here for the rest of the post.

5. Colorado Democratic Spokesman Accuses State Parties of Money Laundering

The top spokesman for Colorado Democrats told a local paper that both parties in the state engaged in financing activities that resembled money laundering. In an interview with the Colorado Independent, Matt Inzeo, the communications director for the Colorado Democratic Party, said, "In most other lines of work, moving money from committee to committee and finally using a brand new committee no one has heard of to buy the ads would be called money laundering."
