More Secrets about the Iran Deal It seems that we are learning new details about President Obama’s Iran Deal every other week. Recently, we learned that the administration agreed to let the United Nations lift sanctions against 2 Iranian banks who helped finance Iran’s ballistic-missile program; sanctions that were not supposed to be lifted until 2023. As I have said from the beginning, our country is getting the short end of the stick when it comes to the Iran Deal. Besides lifting the sanctions, the President has given Iran $400 million in cash as ransom and has agreed to pay them $1.7 billion. We know that this country has sponsored terrorism, we should not be negotiating with them. Fighting Medicare Fraud Health care fraud drives up the cost of health care for everyone. It is imperative that we all take an active role in guarding ourselves from fraud. One way to protect yourself against Medicare fraud is to guard your Medicare number as you would your credit card information. Medicare will NEVER contact you for your Medicare number or other personal information. Another way to protect yourself is to review your Medicare Summary Notice to make sure you and Medicare are only being charged for actual services that you have received. Remembering little tips such as these can go a long way in the fight against fraud. For more tips on guarding yourself from fraud, please click here. Academy Information Sessions This week, my offices will be hosting informational sessions and office hours for students interested in attending one of the four service academies U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. These sessions, open to 8th-12th graders, will allow students and their families to learn about the overall nomination and application process and ask questions about attending a service academy. For additional information, please click here. Sincerely, Tim |
