Next NEC Concall: "An Update on the Speaker of the House" with Rep. Mark Meadows (NC-11) | Tuesday Oct 20 at 12:00 Noon ET

NEC Conference Call, Tuesday, October 20 at 12:00 PM ET
An Update on the Speaker of the House with
Congressman Mark Meadows (NC-11)
We are pleased to announce that North Carolina Congressman Mark Meadows (NC-11) will be with us on Tuesday's National Emergency Coalition conference call at 12:00 PM ET to give us an update on the House Speakership and what we can expect once John Boehner lays down the Speaker's gavel and vacates his seat in Congress at the end of this month. Rep. Meadows was at the forefront of efforts to replace Mr. Boehner and filed a "motion to vacate the chair" in late July to force the election of a new Speaker, just before the House was to leave on a six-week summer recess.

About Rep. Mark Meadows

Having worked as a small business owner for 27 years, Rep. Meadows brings a business-style approach to Washington, D.C. Representing North Carolina's 11th Congressional District, he has championed pro-growth jobs policies, a sensible approach to reducing the national deficit, and a robust national defense.

Mr. Meadows serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee where he Chairs the Subcommittee on Government Operations. Additionally, Mr. Meadows served as a congressional delegate to the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly and as a commissioner on the Congressional-Executive Commission on China.

He is dedicated to providing top-notch constituent services to North Carolina's 11th Congressional District and is committed to upholding his Christian values and conservative principles while serving in Congress.

Mark lives in Jackson County with his wife Debbie. They have two college-age children, Blake and Haley.

LEGAL DISCLAIMER REGARDING NONPROFIT AFFILIATIONS

Please be advised that the National Emergency Coalition (NEC) is not a formal organization, but a Coalition of individual leaders. It is convened by STAND (Staying True to America's National Destiny). The weekly conference calls held under the NEC banner are primarily for purposes of information and political strategizing on the advancement of certain principles and not the endorsement of or opposition to particular candidates. However, at times there are discussions which involve lobbying, recom-mendations for political and electoral activity and expressions of support for or opposition to particular elected officials based on their policies. Individual participants have full latitude to lobby on any policy or to endorse or oppose any candidate or elected official. However, nonprofit organizations are circumscribed by the Internal Revenue Code and related rules and regulations regarding activity of organizations tax exempt under IRC Sections 501(c)(3) and (c)(4). NEC is a coalition of individuals only. Listing organizational affiliations on NEC notices is strictly for purposes of identifying individuals and in no way implies - nor does NEC require or accept - the participation of any nonprofit organization in political activity or contributions in violation of any IRS rules. The general rule is that nonprofit organizations may not endorse or oppose candidates and may not engage in a "substantial" amount of lobbying or political activity. Nonprofit organizations should consult with an attorney or accountant for specifics to assure compliance.
